Several members of the Department specialize in planning medical coverage for mass gatherings, events and expeditions. The Department believes that Event Medical Oversight is a specialized opportunity to ensure the safety and well-being of event participants, and that this oversight should be delivered by specialty-trained physicians with appropriate experience and expertise who take care to plan for all conceivable contingencies and medical likelihoods well in advance.

Wilderness First Aid Class
Wilderness First Aid is the assessment of, and treatment given to, an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care by a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available. Students will learn how to assess, treat, and (when possible) contain emergencies within the scope of their training. Though open to all lay first aid providers, special class arrangements can be made for more advanced audiences such as EMT's, paramedics, nurses, and licensed healthcare professionals.
